C.D. Leganés coach Paco López appeared at a press conference on Monday after his team's match against C.D. Castellón, corresponding to matchday seven of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which ended in a 0-1 away victory.
The coach assessed the match against Castellón as follows:
What the team is missing: "Today we didn't see the Leganés we had seen in recent matches, especially in the first halves at home. We had a bad day, we weren't accurate or comfortable at any point. The team surprised us today, after the 0-1 we rushed things and it wasn't the version we want to see. In other games we've had ups and downs, but today we weren't comfortable practically from the start."
Marvel: “He didn't attend the last training session for personal reasons, which is why he couldn't play in the game.”
Duk: “He was dizzy from the blow he received in the first half.”
Concern: "It's normal for the fans to be angry because they supported us again throughout the game, and it's normal for them to show their disagreement, and rightly so. We have to keep working, there's no other option. There's a long way to go, but what we have to do is continue to correct our mistakes and use this as a turning point, knowing that this is not the way forward."
Lack of intensity: "I don't think we can say anything about our effort. We haven't been good with or without the ball, we haven't adjusted well, the ball was burning us. We've struggled a lot. Without the ball, we haven't been comfortable with the high press, and when we saw that they were getting past us easily, we took a step back. The goal came from a misalignment in the pressure. We haven't been good from the start. We have to realize this, myself first and foremost, because this is not the version we want to see."
