C.D. Leganés earned a point in their visit to S.D. Eibar at Ipurua (0-0), in a match corresponding to the eleventh round of LALIGA HYPERMOTION. The Pepineros played a serious game to continue adding points and remain undefeated away from home.
Naim had Lega's best chance early on, and Juan Soriano appeared to prevent the Armeros from scoring.
Paco López made only one change to the Leganés lineup from the last victory against Málaga: Naim García returned to the starting lineup in place of Miguel de la Fuente, who, on this occasion, waited for his chance on the bench. The first shot of the game came from the Pepineros, with a header from Duk in the 7th minute after a corner kick and cross from Juan Cruz that went just over the bar. In the 11th minute, it was Naim who headed a pass from Rubén Peña after a great team move, but Magunagoitia made the save.
Eibar responded with a free kick from Arbilla in the 18th minute that went close to the post after hitting the blue and white wall. The teams were evenly matched in the middle of the first half, with both sides trying to gain possession, but without many chances on goal. Eibar had a clear chance in the 34th minute, twice through Guruzeta, but Juan Soriano appeared to thwart both opportunities for the Armeros. The score remained 0-0 at halftime.
Eibar hit the post in the clearest chance of the second half
The second half began without changes, with Naim's first long-range shot in the opening seconds being caught by Magunagoitia. In the 55th minute, Eibar had a good chance through Guruzeta, whose curling shot crashed against the left post of Juan Soriano's goal. The home side pressed forward in search of the goal that would put them ahead against a Leganés side that defended well and looked to break on the counter.
In the 66th minute, Paco López made his first changes, bringing on Figueredo for Rubén Peña at right-back and Álex Millán for Duk in attack. Diego had a chance in the 70th minute with a header from Marvel's cross that failed to find the target, and Figueredo had another in the 73rd minute after a great pass from Lalo, but the Uruguayan was unable to finish. In the 77th minute, Óscar Plano came on for Diego García, with Millán moving to the number 9 position. In the 83rd minute, Lega made their final substitutions, bringing on Melero and Miguel de la Fuente in place of Diawara and Juan Cruz.
With no major chances until the final whistle, Leganés picked up a point away from home to remain unbeaten on the road and extend their unbeaten run to four games, the last three of which have been clean sheets. The Pepineros will face their next match on Wednesday (8:00 p.m.) in their Copa del Rey debut against C.D. Azuaga.
