As if it was today… five years ago Leganés won against U.D Las Palmas at Butarque (2-1), reaching 50 points and getting closer to survive on the league. Sergio Prendes (the 500th goal of Leganés in second division) and Chuli scored the goals for the pepineros.
It was the 37th matchday of the 2014/15 season. Leganés was ranked on the middle of the league’s table. Asier Garitano’s team was: Serantes, Rubén Peña, Mantovani, Postigo, César Soriano, Alberto Martín, Erik Morán, Sergio Prendes, Eraso, Aguirre and Chuli. Rabello, Velasco and Carlos Delgado played on second half.
Goals arrived from the second half of the match, the first was scored by Sergio Prendes which was going to be historic because it was the 500th goal of Leganés con second division. Las Palmas tied the match through David Simón but Chuli managed to score the last match and get the three points for Leganés.
The team was practically saved from relegation and was about to face the five matchdays remaining with the purpose of achieving a better position on the league’s table.
