As if it was today… five years ago Leganés won against Albacete at Butarque (2-0) with two goals scored by Chuli. The pepineros continued to stay strong at home and managed to put themselves just 3 points from play offs spots.
It was the 33rd matchday and Asier Garitano’s team was about to secure their spot on the category. The initial squad that day was: Serantes, Rubén Peña, Postigo, Mantovani, César Soriano, Erik Morán, Álvaro, Eraso, Diamanka, Aguirre and Chuli. Rabello, Sergio Prendes and Carlos Delgado played on second half.
Leganés managed to scor the first goal through Chuli just after the Manchegos had their first occasion. It was Chuli again the one that scored the second goal of the match through a penalty kick.
Leganés managed to control the match on the second half even though Albacete created some options through Portu and Keko. The result was 2-0 and the pepineros continued to look after the top.
