As if it was today… four years ago Leganés won against Ponferradina at Butarque (3-0) and continued as leader. Ómar Ramos with a goal and an assist and Rúbén Peña's two goals defined the pepineros’ victory that allowed the team to consolidate at the top of the league’s table.
Leganés was first on the league tied in points with Alavés and four points away from the third. Asier Garitano’s initial squad that day was: Serantes, Víctor Díaz, Bustinza, Mantovani, César Soriano, Sastre, Timor, Omar Ramos, Gabriel, Szymanowski and Guillermo. Ruiz de Galarreta and Rubén Peña played on second half.
Half an hour after the start of the match Omar Ramos scored the first for the pepineros. On the second half the same player performed a superb play and assisted Rubén Peña to increase the lead (2-0).
Ponferradina had the chance to score as well with a penalty kick but Andy did not manage to score. At the end of the match Timor stole the ball and assisted Rubén Peña to set up the final goal (3-0).
Leganés won and was closer to reach an incredible promotion to first division with just 7 matchdays remaining.
