As if it was today… one year ago Leganés managed to tie with Deportivo Alavés at Mendizorroza (1-1) with a great goal by Jonathan Silva on 93’. The pepineros reached 40 points which practically meant they would stay at first division for next season.
Pellegrino’s team had won their two previous matches against Getafe and Real Valladolid. That day initial squad was: Cuéllar, Nyom, Bustinza, Tarín, Siovas, Jonathan Silva, Eraso, Rubén Pérez, Gumbau, Sabin Merino and Braithwaite. José Arnaiz, El Zhar and Michael santos played on second half for the pepineros.
Alavés managed to start the match winning with a penalty kick goal by Calleri. Before that Pacheco saved Alavés a couple of times after shoots by Sabin Merino and Gumbau. It was Jonathan Silva, just when the match was coming to an end, who scored an amazing goal after a beautiful shoot that hit the post and Pacheco couldn’t stop.
