As if it was today… ten years ago Leganés got an agonic win against Toledo at Salto del Caballo with a goal by Quini on added time. The pepineros got an important win on their goal of reaching the promotion playoffs to Segunda División.
The team was seventh on the league just 3 points from the fourth and with 4 remaining matches. The pepineros needed a win to continue with their hopes on the tournament. Agustín Vara’s initial squad was: Raúl Moreno, Durango, Javi, Casquero, Garrido, Chupe, Valleros, Zarandona, Carlos Martínez, Aníbal and Quini. Postigo, García Granero and Juli also played during the match.
The goals arrived to the match on the second half. Aníbal scored first for the visitors after a Carlos Martinez’s cross but Joaqui tied up the game just a couple minutes after that. On added time Carlos Matínez and Aníbla performed a good play to assist Quini who scored the match’s last goal. Promotion continued being a possible dream for both the team and the fans.
