C.D. Leganés earned a point on their visit to C.D. Mirandés at Mendizorroza (0-0) in the ninth match of the LALIGA HYPERMOTION season. The pepineros dominated the game and had more scoring opportunities than their opponents, but the initial score remained unchanged.
Paco López made three changes compared to the previous matchday, when Leganés beat Andorra: Rubén Peña returned to right back after several weeks out due to injury, replacing Figueredo; Guirao replaced Cissé, with his national team, in midfield, marking the youth team's debut as a starter in an official match; and Miguel de la Fuente replaced Diego García as the Blue and Whites' most advanced player.
Miguel, in the first minute, had Leganés' best chance in a first half dominated by the Pepineros.
The match began with a great first chance in the first minute, thanks to Miguel after a good assist from Juan Cruz, with Juanpa making a great save that sent the ball out for a corner. The Pepineros dominated the initial phase, looking to create with the ball and looking towards the opponent's goal. Juan Cruz had another good chance for Leganés in the 21st minute, in another transition that the number 10 finished with a left-footed shot that just missed the target.
Mirandés responded in the 26th minute with a good chance for Bauza after Leganés lost control in their own half, which the home player finished with a shot high. The Blue and Whites tried their luck with runs down the right flank by Rubén Peña and Duk down the left, and in the 40th minute they had another good chance when Duk cleared a long-range free kick that Juanpa cleared. The goalkeeper then again thwarted the rebound that fell to Guirao. Pepinero dominated, but with the initial result still in place, and the halftime break went into effect.
More Blue and Whites took the initiative after the restart, but no goal.
Without substitutions after the restart, Mirandés had their first chance of the second half, with El Jebari's shot in the 49th minute that hit the post. Lega responded in the 53rd minute with a good move by Juan Cruz, whose left-footed shot missed the target. In the 56th minute, Rubén Peña tried his luck with his left foot, with a low shot that Juanpa blocked. Paco López's first substitutions came in the 63rd minute, with Óscar Plano and Diego García replacing Duk and Miguel looking to refresh the attack.
Juan Cruz had another chance in the 65th minute after an individual effort, but his shot went wide again. Lega continued to press for a goal, with another clear chance for Diawara in the 71st minute, which the Guinean crossed too far. Immediately after, Gonzalo Melero came on for Guirao to breathe new life into the midfield. Diawara again in the 79th minute from inside the box, but his shot went wide of the side netting. Lega didn't give up, with another opportunity through Naim in the 82nd minute, which the youth player crossed too far.
Leganés kept at it until the end, with two final shots from Melero and Diawara, which the home goalkeeper saved. Another point for the blue and whites, who remain unbeaten away from home and will return to play at the Ontime Butarque in their next league match, on Sunday 19th (2:00 pm) against Málaga C.F.
