C.D. Leganés failed to score in their final match of 2025 against Real Sporting (0-1). Dubasin scored the winning goal for the Asturians in the 88th minute in a match in which Lega had their chances to take the lead but once again failed to convert.
Igor Oca fielded virtually the same lineup as in the match against Racing, with the only change being the inclusion of Roberto López in the starting eleven in place of Naim García, who waited his turn on the bench after having to be substituted due to discomfort in the match at El Sardinero. Opposite them was Sporting, whose former coach Borja Jiménez, who led the team to promotion and the league championship in 2024, returned to Ontime Butarque for the first time as the visiting coach.
Diego and Cruz had the best chances for Lega in the first half
The match began evenly and with intensity from both teams, although without any chances on goal. In the 19th minute, the visitors had their first dangerous shot on goal, after a corner kick that was headed by Otero and saved well by Juan Soriano. In the 24th minute, Leganés had a dangerous chance, with a cross from the right by Juan Cruz that was dangerous and almost caused problems for Yáñez.
Diego García had a great chance in the 27th minute, with a diving header inside the area from a Duk cross that Yáñez struggled to save. These were good minutes for Lega, who were looking to take the lead with some good play. Sporting responded with a counterattack from Guille Rosas that was finished off by Otero, and once again Juan Soriano appeared to deflect the ball for a corner. Duk tried again in the 38th minute from a cross by Cruz, but his header went over the bar. Lega had another chance before the break, with a great move by Cruz whose left-footed shot was saved by Yáñez.
Lalo had the clearest chance in the 80th minute, but his shot grazed the crossbar
The second half began without changes, with a first shot by Nacho Martín for Sporting that Soriano caught securely down low. The visitors dominated for a few minutes at the start of the second half, against a Lega side that was looking to get out into space more. In the 57th minute, Duk tried his luck with a quick move down the right, but his right-footed shot failed to find the target. In the 61st minute, Igor Oca made his first substitutions, bringing on Naim for Roberto López and Álex Millán for Diego García in an attempt to freshen up the attack.
In the 68th minute, Marvel replaced academy player Leiva, returning after serving a suspension and taking up position as center back alongside Ignasi Miquel, with Lalo moving to right back. Lalo himself had Leganés' best chance in the 80th minute after a great through ball that left the number 6 one-on-one with Yáñez, but his left-footed shot went over the bar when everyone was already celebrating the goal. Óscar Plano and Miguel came on immediately, with Lega going all out for the win and leaving a three-man defense.
Dubasin scored in the 88th minute and Sporting's defense cleared a header from Miguel off the line in the 92nd minute
However, Sporting would get the final 0-1 in an isolated play in the 88th minute in which Dubasin beat Juan Soriano and put the visitors ahead. There was still time in the few minutes of added time decreed by the referee for Miguel to equalize with a lobbed header that the Asturian defense cleared off the line to confirm Lega's misfortune. Lega remains on twenty points in the table and will face its next match on Sunday, January 4 (6:30 p.m.) against Albacete Balompié.
