C.D. Leganés failed to pick up any points in their LALIGA HYPERMOTION matchday 12 fixture against Burgos C.F. (1-2). Álex Millán put Leganés ahead, but Fer Niño and Atienza came back to win it for the Castile and León side.
Álex Millán put Lega ahead, but Fer Niño and Atienza came back before halftime.
Leganés started with three changes to their starting lineup from the last league match, with Jorge Sáenz, Óscar Plano, and Álex Millán coming in for Marvel, who was suspended due to accumulated yellow cards, Naim, and Diego García. The match couldn't have started better for the Pepineros, as in the 6th minute, Álex Millán took advantage of a defensive error by Burgos to put Leganés ahead. However, in the next move, Fer Niño equalized for the visitors with a goal that was initially disallowed but was validated by VAR after a long review.
Juan Cruz had a chance in the 20th minute to put Leganés back in front, but the defense cleared his shot after two nutmegs in the area. The Pepineros kept trying, carrying the weight of the game and regularly reaching the Burgos area, although they were unable to convert their chances into clear opportunities. Duk had a chance with a header in the 43rd minute after a great ball from Ignasi Miquel, but Cantero blocked his shot. However, in added time in the first half, Atienza took advantage of a corner to put Burgos ahead and make it 1-2 at the break.
The second half began with Paco López's first substitution, bringing on Miguel de la Fuente in place of Ignasi Miquel in search of a comeback. Duk had a chance in the 56th minute with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box that went just wide. In the 60th minute, Melero replaced Cissé in the second change for the Blue and Whites to freshen up the midfield.
Burgos scored a third goal midway through the second half, in the 68th minute through David González, but VAR ruled out the goal for offside. Roberto López and Pauwels came on in the 72nd minute to replace Roberto López and Óscar Plano in search of more freshness in attack, and in the final stages Diego García did the same in place of Duk. Leganés tried until the final whistle, but the equalizer did not come and the three points went to Burgos.
Leganés remains with fifteen points in the standings and their next match will be next Saturday (2:00 p.m.) at Anoeta against Real Sociedad ‘B’.
