C.D. Leganés secured victory against Málaga C.F. at the Ontime Butarque Stadium (2-0) in a match corresponding to the tenth round of LALIGA HYPERMOTION. Diego García scored in the first half and Álex Millán scored in the second half for the Blue and Whites.
Diego García put Lega ahead in the 4th minute after a great move by Juan Cruz
Paco López made two changes to the Pepineros' line-up from the last matchday, with Cissé, who was returning after playing for his national team, and Diego García coming into the starting eleven in place of Guirao and Naim, who started the match on the bench. The match couldn't have started better for the Blue and Whites, wearing green this Sunday to mark Mental Health Day, as they took the lead in the 4th minute through Diego García, who finished off a move by Juan Cruz to make it 1-0 with his second goal of the season.
Málaga responded with a good chance in the 10th minute from Larrubia, which Juan Soriano saved well with a great intervention. In the 15th minute, it was Duk who tried his luck with a long-range free kick, which Herrero saved with difficulty. Leganés looked for the second, with a good chance for Juan Cruz in the 35th minute that went just wide. And in the 39th minute, it was Rubén Peña who had a chance after another great assist from Juan Cruz, which Herrero sent for a corner. Leganés went into the break with the lead.
The second half started without changes for Leganés, with alternating dominance and no major chances at the start of the second half. In the 57th minute, Paco López made his first two changes, bringing on Naim and Álex Millán in place of Duk and Miguel de la Fuente in an attempt to freshen up the attack. Juan Soriano reappeared in the 60th minute with a good shot from Larrubia.
Midway through the second half, Jorge Sáenz and Óscar Plano came on for Marvel, who was struggling with discomfort, and Diego García. In the 72nd minute, Lega scored their second goal: Rubén Peña sent a great ball to the far post and Álex Millán, on his first touch, connected with an unstoppable volley that beat Herrero to make it 2-0 with his first goal in an official match for Lega.
The last change for the Pepineros was the introduction of Melero for Juan Cruz, who received an ovation in the final minutes of a match in which Leganés secured their first home win of the season, taking seven of the last nine points available to move up to 14 points. Their next match will be on Saturday (4:15 p.m.) at Ipurua against S.D. Eibar.
